モラル・エコノミー？

　こちらでのリサーチの進行中、労働党の党首選が数ヶ月にわたって５人の候補の間でたたかわれました。昨日、かつての左派理論家 Ralph Miliband の息子たちミリバンド兄弟のうち最有力候補 David (兄) を Ed (弟) が1%の僅差でやぶった、ということで話題になっています。次の首相候補ですから、どういう考えか、知りたいところですが、兄弟ともに moral economy をキーワードにしている！
　彼らのいう moral economy は、鳩山兄弟の友愛ほどヤワではないが、それにしても甘く素人っぽいところがある。こんな具合です（写真も発言も public domain より）。

David Miliband － attacked some behavior in the financial sector. “I stand for a moral economy. People should not be playing games with other people’s money in the welfare state, but nor should they do so with our pensions on the trading floor of the City.”

Ed Miliband － "I am for a moral economy in which there is responsibility from top to bottom".

わがペーパーの出だし（問題の所在）で、純アカデミックな意味づけだけでなく現今の政治言説にも論及できるので、その点はおもしろくなってきましたが、昨夕討論したボイド・ヒルトン先生も、EPT未亡人ドラシもまた、現代政治における有効性には懐疑的です。
